About the Opportunity:

Joint Enterprise Technologies is currently seeking a Network/TelecommunicationsTechnician to work at a site on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. A strong work ethic and flexible attitude is critical for success in this role.

Required Clearance: 

  • Willingness to submit to and pass a counter intelligence (CI) Polygraph.

  • Functional Requirements:

  • Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation.
  • Familiarity with fiber connector types and manufacturers, experience testing single-mode and multimode fiber installations, experience with OTDR testing and fiber optic troubleshooting, pulling cable, fire stopping, dressing cables and labeling to industry standards.
  • Installing, terminating, and testing all forms of copper and fiber cabling.
  • Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures.
  • Attending training and safety meetings, and working safely at all times
  • Direct related experience (cabling, construction trades).
  • Proven experience as a fiber optic specialist BICSI Installer/Technician certification highly desired.
  • Reliable daily travel to worksites.
  • Must be able to work safely following company and customer safety policies/procedures.
  • Conduct network configuration and able to perform network troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience as a team lead
  • Must be capable of physical activity, including maneuvering within restricted spaces including comms closets, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting of 50lbs +.

  • High School Diploma + 0 years
  • Associate's Degree + 0 years
  • Bachelor's Degree + 0 years
  • Required Certifications: 

  • At least one of the following certifications:Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP
  • Desired Certifications: 

  • BICSI Installer or BICSI Technician (desired)
